STORY LINES
• Baylor Softball is set for its first midweek matchup of the season, a contest against UT Arlington at Getterman Stadium, Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.
• The Bears are in the midst of a 14-game home stand and are currently 9-0 at home with nine-straight wins throughout the Getterman Classic and Baylor Invitational.
• The midweek tilt will mark the 86th time these two teams are meeting. The Bears currently hold the all-time record over the Mustangs 54-30-1. BU and UTA met twice last season and had a 1-1 record with a run-rule game and an extra inning game
• BU just finished the Baylor Invitational, where they went 5-0 on the weekend, including a 5-0 shutout against No. 21 Maryland. They also beat Texas A&M Commerce in two games, as well as Minnesota and took the championship game over the Gophers 15-2 in five innings.
• In the Bears 5-0 shutout over Maryland,
Dariana Orme threw a no-hitter just a week after throwing Baylor's first seven-inning perfect game.
• After jumping back into the polls last week for the first time in over a year, Baylor jumped 13 spots in the D1Softball poll and is now ranked No. 10. The rest of the ranking will come out tomorrow.
• Baylor's 13-1 start is the best start for the Bears since 2011 when they started 14-1 and went on to the Women's College World Series semifinals later that season. Baylor has only had two seasons start with 14 wins and that was 2007 and 2011.

Shaylon Govan is continuing to rake in the cleanup spot, leading the Bears this week with a .571 batting average with a double, three home runs and 10 RBI on the weekend. She leads the nation in runs batted in per game with 2.07 and leads the Big 12 with 29 already on the season.
• Govan is one of two Bears to have double digit RBIs already on the season, with
Amber Toven and
Emily Hotteach totaling 11.

Emily Hott was also on fire in the batter's box last weekend, going 7-for-13 at the plate with two doubles and a triple. She batted .538 and added a stolen base.
• Four arms combined in the circle at the Baylor Invitational with
Dariana Orme leading the way with two wins with two complete games and 19 strikeouts.
• Transfer
Shannon Vivoda had her first two career starts over the weekend and recorded her first three hits as a Bear. Freshman
Jensen Vienne also saw action, recording her first career hit.
• BU had 21 of 22 players see action during a game at some point this season.
• With a career record of 990-468
, head coach
Glenn Moore is looking for his 1,000th career win this season and is only 10 wins away from hitting the milestone.

McKenzie Wilson who led the Bears from the batter's box last year, was the only Bear named to the Big 12 Preseason Team.
• Baylor is returning 13 from last season, and all of them were letterwinners for the Bears. They are also returning all three All-Big 12 selections from 2022,
