No. 20 SB Drops Game Two Against No. 2 Oklahoma State, 5-0

STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 20 Baylor Softball dropped game two of the three-game conference series against Oklahoma State, falling 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Cowgirl Stadium. 
 
The Bears, now 23-7 on the season, start conference play 0-2 against the No. 2 team in the country. Baylor lost in an 11-inning thriller during game one, before getting shut out by the Cowgirls in game two.
 
THE RUNDOWN
The Bears were only able to get runners on in three of the seven innings, with the Bears best chance in the first inning after McKenzie Wilson led off the game with a single and moved to third on a groundout and passed ball.
 
The Cowgirls scored early, putting two runs up in the bottom of the second after a throwing error brought two runner's home.
 
Starting pitcher Dariana Orme then held Oklahoma State scoreless for four more innings, retiring the Cowgirls in order in two innings and only allowing one base runner via a defensive error.
 
Oklahoma State scored again in the fifth inning, after three hits and a stolen base plated three more runs and gave the Cowgirls the 5-0 lead.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
The Bears only hit of the game came from McKenzie Wilson who extended her on-base streak to eight games.
 
This marks only the third time this season the Bears have been shut out by an opponent.
 
Dariana Orme pitched three scoreless innings and struck out two, but picks up the loss and goes to 10-3 on the season. Kaci West pitched one scoreless inning.

The Bears will close out the series against Oklahoma State Sunday, March 26 at 12 p.m. CT.
