
MGOLF Holds in Seventh Place After Day Two at the Big 12 Championship

BU’s Drew Wrightson leads the way for a second-straight round
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Baylor men's golf is tied for seventh after a 17-over 297 in the third round of the Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
Drew Wrightson paced the Bears for a second-straight round with a 2-over 74, .64 shots better than the stroke average on Tuesday. With a 3-over 213, Wrightson enters Wednesday in a tie for eighth. Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg used a third-round 63 to jump to 14-under par, seven shots clear of the field.
Baylor's 39-over 879 is tied with Kansas State and just seven shots back of sixth-place Kansas. Oklahoma remains the only team under par after three rounds with a 2-under 838, 11 shots better than second-place Texas Tech.
THE RUNDOWN
Starting on the back nine, Wrightson opened strong, with his only blemish on the card coming with a bogey at No. 15 en route to a 1-over 36 on his outward nine. A bogey at No. 10 opened his inward half, before he exchanged strokes with a birdie at No. 3 and a bogey at No. 4. A birdie at No. 7 and a closing bogey at No. 9 put Wrightson in a tie for 8th entering the final round.
Zach Heffernan finished with a 3-over 73 on Tuesday. The sophomore opened with a bogey at No. 10 but settled in with six-straight pars before bogeys at Nos. 17 and 18 saw him make the turn at 3-over. Heffernan would get a stroke back at No. 3 but lost two with a double bogey at No. 5. He would play his final four holes at 1-under par, highlighted by a birdie at No. 7 to finish in a tie for 30th.
Johnny Keefer fired a 5-over 75 to finish in a tie for 21st. The San Antonio native played his first four holes at 3-over par with a bogey at No. 10 and a double bogey at No. 13, but picked up a birdie at No. 14. A final bogey on his outward nine saw Keefer make the turn with a 3-over 38. After a pair of bogeys to start his second nine, Keefer picked up a pair of birdies at Nos. 3 and 7 but closed with two more bogeys at Nos. 8 and 9.
Luke Dossey finished in a tie for 44th on Tuesday. The senior made bogeys at Nos. 11, 12 and 13 before rolling in his first birdie of the day at No. 14 to get back to 2-over. He closed his opening nine with a bogey at No. 18 for a 3-over 38. Dossey made a pair of bogeys at Nos. 4 and 6 around a double bogey at No. 5, which were his only blemishes on his second nine for a 4-over 39.
Tyler Isenhart shot an 8-over 78 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 39th. Isenhart opened with a 5-over 40 on his outward nine with bogeys at Nos. 10 and 13 and a triple-bogey seven at No. 18. After making the turn, the senior made bogeys at Nos. 1 and 4 before making his first birdie of the day at No. 7. He closed his round with a pair of bogeys at Nos. 8 and 9.
