Shcherbinina Earns All-Big 12 First Team Singles Selection

The sophomore’s all-conference singles nod is the second of her career
IRVING, Texas – Sophomore Alina Shcherbinina was placed on the All-Big 12 Women's Tennis First Team Singles list, the league office announced Friday.
The Moscow, Russia, native went 6-3 in Big 12 action this season and 15-6 overall, while collecting a team-high three wins over ranked opponents. Despite the Bears starting the conference slate 1-3, Shcherbinina went 3-1 at No. 2 singles before moving up to the No. 1 spot for the remainder of the year.
Shcherbinina garnered a trio of all-conference honors last season, picking up second-team laurels, as well as landing a spot on the all-freshman team and was named the individual season champion at No. 4 singles with a 6-3 record.
