Bears posted 3.23 cumulative GPA in 2022-23

WACO, Texas – Baylor was one of 130 Division I baseball programs to receive the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award on Wednesday.

As a team, the Bears posted a 3.23 cumulative GPA in the 2022-23 academic year. BU has now earned this prestigious team honor in eight consecutive seasons.

Baylor was one of four Big 12 programs to receive the award, along with Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas.

The Bears recorded a 3.24 fall GPA with 72 percent of the roster earning above a 3.0, including five student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 for the term. In the spring, BU held steady with a 3.21 GPA and saw 23 student-athletes named a Baylor Academic Champion.
