Jayhawks leading 8-4 in the top of the eighth; set to resume Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
WACO, Texas – Saturday's game between Baylor baseball and Kansas was suspended in the eighth inning due to inclement weather at Baylor Ballpark in Waco.
The Jayhawks were leading 8-4 in the top of the eighth when play was stopped.
The game will be resumed on Sunday, April 21, at 12:30 p.m. The series finale will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the resumed game.
KU got out to a 6-0 lead thanks in part to a second-inning grand slam. The Bears got on the board in the bottom of the third after junior outfielder Wesley Jordan singled in a run. A two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning that was deemed a fair ball and upheld after review extended the Kansas lead to 8-1, though junior infielder Tyriq Kemp hit a two-run shot in the bottom half to pull BU back within five. Sophomore catcher Zach Mazoch's RBI single in the fifth accounted for the final run of the day before play was halted.
