STORY LINES
• Baylor softball (35-21) continues its journey in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship advancing to the super regional round for the seventh time in program history. The Bears knocked off No. 13 national seed Louisiana in the Lafayette regional to advance to the round of 16. 
• On their way to Gainesville, the Bears defeated Ole Miss in the opening game of the regional round before taking down Louisiana on day two to head to championship Sunday. On the last day of competition in Lafayette, Baylor fell against the No. 13 national seed 13-0, before turning around in a winner-takes-all game and defeated the Ragin' Cajuns 4-3 to capture the upset. 
• Every inning of the Gainesville Super Regional will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks. Matt Schumacker (pxp) and Erin Miller (analyst) will be on the call all weekend. Baylor's first game against the Gators will be featured on ESPN 2. Every Baylor game will continue to be broadcasted on 101.3 FM with Derek Smith handling the commentary.
• BU earned an NCAA postseason bid for the 16th time in program history. Baylor is 51-35 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears have advanced to the Super Regional round six times (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2017). 
• Baylor has made four World Series appearances, the last time coming in 2017, which also happens to be the last time Baylor advanced to a super regional.
• The Bears are 6-6 all-time against the Gators, including holding a 3-2 record against Florida when playing in Gainesville. The Last time BU faced Florida was during the 2018 season. Baylor came to Gainesville for the 2021 Gainesville regional but did not end up playing the host team. 
• Seventeen of Baylor's losses this season have come against teams ranked or receiving votes in polls at some point in the season.
• The Bears have already faced nine ranked teams this season: No. 2 Tennessee, No. 23 Louisiana, No. 25 Oregon, No. 19 UCLA, No. 13 Missouri, No. 7 Oklahoma State, No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 23 Texas State and No. 1 Texas.
• Baylor is one of five Big 12 Big 12 Conference teams to advance to the NCAA Tournament: No. 1 Texas (Austin Regional), No. 2 Oklahoma (Norman Regional), No. 5 Oklahoma State (Stillwater Regional) and UCF received an at-large bid, heading to the Tallahassee Regional. 
• The Big 12 posted the highest winning percentage of any conference (.813) during the NCAA Regionals as Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas advanced to Super Regionals. The four Big 12 teams are the most to advance to the second weekend of the NCAA Softball Championship since 2011 while the 80% of the league's five selections to move on to the second weekend is the best among any multi-bid league.
• Baylor Softball received three All-Big 12 selections among the 2024 All-Big 12 Softball postseason awards announced by the conference office.
• For the second-straight season, Shaylon Govan received All-Big 12 first team honors, while Aliyah Binford and Emily Hott each received second team honors. 
• Aliyah Binford has a team-leading 147 strikeouts and holds a 13-11 record. She is currently ranked No.1 in the Big 12 in strikeouts. 
• Shaylon Govan leads the Bears with a .451 average, 60 hits, nine doubles and 10 home runs. Her batting average is first in the Big 12 and 7th nationally, while her on base percentage is ranks second nationally. With her .589 on base percentage, Govan is ranked 8th in the country in walks per game and has been walked 47 times so far this season.
• Emily Hott has also been on fire offensively, totaling 56 hits, nine doubles, six triples and 10 home runs. Her six triples tie a single-season record for the Bears and another one would put her in the top spot alone. 
• Sixteen different Bears have recorded a hit so far this season, with Govan leading the way with 60, followed by Hott with 56. There are 13 Bears with double-digit hits on the season. 
• Head coach Glenn Moore hit his 1,000th career win last season, when the Bears took down UT Arlington on March 23, 2023. He hit his 900th win at Baylor this season after taking down UTSA, 2-1, on April 9, 2024.
