WACO, Texas – No. 10 Baylor hits the road Thursday to face No. 14 TCU in Fort Worth at 7 p.m., before returning home Sunday to host Utah at 1 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field for the final home match of the regular season. Both matches will stream live on ESPN+.
The Bears (10-1-2, 5-1 Big 12) enter the weekend riding a five-match win streak, highlighted by recent victories over now-No. 21 Colorado, 2-1, and BYU, 4-2. Baylor has defeated every ranked opponent they have faced this season, including then-No. 17 Mississippi State and then-No. 14 Kansas. Boasting a 5-1 Big 12 record, the Bears hold the top spot in the conference with their solo loss on the season being their league opener against Texas Tech on Sept. 19.
TCU (10-2-1, 4-1-1 Big 12) entered the season as a favorite to win the conference, but recently fell 3-1 to Colorado and settled for a 1-1 draw with then- No.11 Texas Tech in Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs also have yet to drop a match to a ranked opponent this season, defeating both then-No.9 Iowa and then-No.14 Kansas.
Baylor and TCU are set to meet for the 27th time in program history, with the Bears leading the all-time series 14-6-6. The teams last met a season ago, playing to a 1-1 draw in Waco. The Bears are in the hunt for their first win in Fort Worth in three seasons.
Utah (7-5-3, 2-2-2 Big 12) will host No. 21 Colorado before heading south to face Baylor. The Utes enter the weekend on the heels of back-to-back 1-0 road wins over Houston and Arizona. Their only other matchup against a ranked opponent this season came in their Big 12 opener, a loss to then-No. 14 TCU.
The Utes lead the all-time series 2-1, with Baylor's lone victory coming in 1997. The teams last met a season ago in Salt Lake City, where Utah earned a 2-0 win. The Bears are in search of their first win over the Utes since Utah joined the Big 12.
Baylor holds the No. 10 spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, released through matches played on Oct. 12, and sits at No. 4 in both the NCAA Division I Committee's Top 16 and RPI. With TCU ranked No. 14 in the same coaches' poll and No. 5 in the committee rankings and RPI.
