Presleigh Pilon went 3-for-3 at the plate
WACO, Texas – Baylor Softball took game two over UCF, 3-2, Saturday afternoon at Getterman Stadium.
THE RUNDOWN
Baylor got off to a hot start against the Knights in game two of the three-game series retiring UCF in order in the first two innings.
The Bears got on the board early when a leadoff single from Turiya Coleman in the first was followed up with a fielder's choice and a stolen base before Carter came home to score on a single from Shaylon Govan.
Presleigh Pilon singled in the second for the Bears but that would be all until UCF would threaten in the top of the third. After the Bears issued a walk with two outs, a double to center field had the runner coming home to score but a throw from Brooklyn Carter in centerfield stopped the run from scoring.
The Knights plated an unearned run in the top of the fourth after a couple of singles and a BU error had one runner come home.
In the bottom of the fifth, Pilon and Amber Toven laced back-to-back singles before moving to second and third on a sacrifice bunt. A fielder's choice then had Pilon sliding safely into home to give BU the 2-1 lead.
In the sixth, UCF battled back and plated another run to tie the game at two apiece on a couple of hits.
Going into the bottom of the sixth, Carter led off the inning with a single to centerfield before moving to third on a stolen base and pop up. Coming home to score on a single from Pilon, Carter gave Baylor the 3-2 lead in the sixth.
Finishing the game strong, BU sat the Knights down in order as Lillie Walked tossed her second-straight complete game and picked up her fourth strikeout of the game.
