Bears add Big 12 transfer with one year of collegiate experience
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis inked Alian Zack, a transfer from Oklahoma State, to the 2025-26 roster as announced by head coach Joey Scrivano on Monday afternoon.
"Alian is the kind of player every coach hopes to have," said Scrivano. "She loves the game, works incredibly hard, excels in the classroom and puts the team first. For a mid-year freshman, the impact she made was impressive. She's already shown she belongs at the top level of college tennis, and we're excited to keep helping her grow both on and off the court."
In her first season of collegiate tennis in Stillwater, Zack went 4-4 in singles play across 15 matches, while putting up a 6-4 record in doubles split between the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. All six doubles wins came against Power-Four foes.
A native of Tel Aviv, Israel, Zack's pro slate so far has led to a career-high WTA ranking of No. 1,358 in singles (2024) and No. 814 in doubles (2022).
Zack's first professional main-draw singles win came in October 2022 at the W15 Sharm ElSheikh, where she won her way through the qualifiers and got a victory in the first round before falling in the second. She achieved similar success at the W15 Prokuplje in Kursumlijska Banja, and most recently at the W15 Heraklion.
Paired with Camden Andreea Herea for a semifinal appearance in the W15 Kursumlijska Banja last summer, Zack qualified for a slew of additional quarterfinal showings in doubles.
While on the junior circuit, Zack won titles at the 2021 J4 Rhodes doubles, 2022 J5 Ashkelon singles, 2023 J60 Ramat Hasharon singles while winning both singles and doubles at the J60 Beer Sheva.
