WACO, Texas – Baylor men's and women's golf have added Jackson Hamlin as its Director of Golf Operations, it was announced on Tuesday.
"I'm looking forward to supporting two outstanding programs, working alongside elite coaches and student-athletes, and contributing to the continued success of Baylor Golf both on and off the course," Hamlin said.
Hamlin comes to the Bears most recently as the Director of Instruction at the Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa, which followed a stint as the Assistant Golf Instructor at Jim McLean Golf Schools in Coral Gables, Fla. He also gained experience as the PGA Golf Management Intern at a pair of historic courses, including Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., and Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southhampton N.Y.
"We are excited to add Jackson to the Baylor Golf staff," Baylor women's golf head coach Jay Goble said. "Jackson brings a passion for golf and desire to help both teams reach their goals. He will keep both teams organized and will help with the behind-the-scenes tasks to allow both golf teams to focus on playing great golf. We welcome Jackson and can't wait to see what the future brings."
"Adding Jackson to our staff is a huge win for Baylor Golf," Baylor men's golf head coach Mike McGraw said. "His experience working at some of the nation's premier clubs and his dedication to developing young players make him a perfect fit for this role. Jackson will have a direct impact on both our men's and women's programs, and I'm excited for the positive influence he will bring to our student-athletes and staff."
He served as the volunteer assistant golf coach at Midland University for the 2022-23 season, helping direct logistical support for travel, while also assisting in the skill development and strategy of the roster.
Hamlin earned a dual degree at Nebraska-Lincon in both PGA Golf Management and Journalism, with a focus on sports media and communications. As a player during his undergraduate tenure, he was named the Nebraska-Lincoln PGM Player of the Year in 2022, owning over 10 tournament wins on the 2022-24 PGA Golf Management schedule.
