
Marshall Homers twice in SBs 11-2 Win Over San Diego State

SAN DIEGO, Calif -- Freshman Kaygen Marshall put together an outstanding performance at the plate Friday, hitting two homers to help power Baylor softball's 11-2 win over San Diego State.
Sophomore Peyton Tanner got the win for Baylor, twirling her second-career complete game. The right-hander went seven innings, giving up just two runs on five hits, allowing no walks and striking out six.
Marshall went 3-for-4 at the plate, while senior Amber Toven added to Marshall's awesome power-hitting performance by going 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Sophomore Karynton Dawson also put together a big day going 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.
RUNDOWN
The Bears got on the board immediately with a lead-off blast off the bat of Amber Toven.
BU got two more runs in the second off the bat of Marshall and the speed of Brooklyn Carter who came around to score one of her three runs on the day.
San Diego State narrowed Baylor's lead to 3-2 before the Bears stretched the advantage to 4-2 in the fourth inning with another homerun from Marshall.
Baylor kept the Aztecs scoreless before building on their lead in the sixth inning. bringing the score to 7-2 in favor of Baylor.
The Bears manufactured three more runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh, highlighted by a couple of two-run swings from Karynton Dawson and Amber Toven.
