The senior hit .435 with 11RBIs as part of a 5-1 week for BU
WACO, Texas – On the heels of a monster showing last week, Baylor softball's Amber Toven was named the Big 12 Player of the Week Tuesday by the league office.
The Los Angeles, Calif., native was right at home in Southern California, serving as the offensive catalyst for Baylor, producing both power and run production at an elite level. Over the six-game stretch last week, Toven hit .435 with two home runs, 11 RBIs and a .739 slugging percentage, accounting for nearly one-third of the Bears' total RBIs on the week.
She consistently delivered in key situations, driving in runs in multiple games while also scoring nine times herself. The performance vaulted Toven to third in the Big 12 in RBIs and third in the conference in home runs, as her four long balls on the season are just two shy of her career total entering this year (6).
Tuesday marks Toven's career-first conference award and the first for a Bear since Shaylon Govan was named the league's Player of the Week on April 8, 2025. Thirty-one of Baylor's 34 Big 12 Players of the Week have come under Glenn Moore.
Toven and the 9-2 Bears put a four-game win streak on the line beginning Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. CT to open the Clemson Classic. Games against Clemson will be available on ACC Digital Network, while all games in 2026 will be broadcast on the radio at COOL 101.3.
