EQ’s Lauren Jorgensen Earns Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month Honor

Jorgensen earns first-career monthly accolade
IRVING, Texas – Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat senior Lauren Jorgensen has been named Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month for February, as announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon.
Jorgensen picked up honors in Flat after an undefeated 2-0 month, earning one MOP on senior day against No. 7 TCU. The Albuquerque, N.M. native averaged a high score of 82 with a win margin of 7.25 points.
She beat two top-seven opponents, having spreads over opponents of one and 13 points, respectively. Jorgensen's one-point win over then-No. 5 Oklahoma State helped the Bears win the event, 3-2, and eventually helped lead the Jumping Seat squad to a 7-3 victory. She tied her season high score of 86 against No. 7 TCU, winning by 13.5 points to earn her second season and fourth career MOP. Jorgensen had the highest score in the event against TCU.
This is Jorgensen's first-career monthly honor. She has an overall record of 3-3 for the season so far in Flat.
Baylor finishes its regular season campaign with two contests in California against UT Martin and No. 8 Fresno State on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
