
SB Suspends Series Finale with Iowa State

The game will resume on Sunday at 12 p.m., with BU holding a 4-0 lead
WACO, Texas – Baylor softball's series finale with Iowa State was suspended in the bottom of the third inning, due to heavy rain in the area.
The game will resume on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. with the Bears holding a 4-0 lead.
Prior to the delay, BU jumped on Iowa State in the bottom of the first when Amber Toven doubled to right field and came home on a Karynton Dawson triple to left. Leah Cran followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Bears a 2-0 lead.
Baylor added two more runs in the second inning as Averie Waddell singled up the middle to score Gigi Lindsey, and Brooklyn Carter later drove in Sa'Mya Jones with an RBI single.
Warncke was sharp in the circle before the delay, tossing three hitless innings with three strikeouts, facing just two over the minimum.
Faith Piper will be at the plate with one out in the bottom of the third when play resumes on Sunday afternoon.
