Bears dominated major awards, earn four All-America
AZUSA, California - The Baylor acrobatics & tumbling team garnered multiple postseason honors Sunday from the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association, including academic and athletic-based honors.
Junior Payton Washington was named the NCATA DI Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year. The NCATA DI Specialist of the Year is Leavy McDonald, a sophomore who previously took home Freshman of the Year. The NCATA DI Freshman of the Year award went to Mo Arthur.
Felecia Mulkey earned NCATA Coach of the Year, going back-to-back, after leading her Bears to their 11th-straight NCATA title. It is Mulkey's third accolade while at Baylor.
Earning NCATA All-America were freshman Arthur, sophomore McDonald, and juniors Emily Bott and Washington. It was the third All-America honor for Washington and the second for both Bott and McDonald.
Gigi Rendino was named to the NCATA All-Academic Team.
For the NCATA Academic Honor Roll, 38 Bears were named to the team, three more than last year. The full list can be found here.
