WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis was selected to the NCAA Tournament for the 27th time in program history Monday afternoon and earned a first-round matchup against Wisconsin in the College Station Regional.
The Bears (13-9, 8-5 Big 12) will face the Badgers (17-7, 9-4 Big Ten) at 10 a.m. CT Saturday at Texas A&M's Mitchell Tennis Center. Host Texas A&M will meet Quinnipiac at 1 p.m., with both winners advancing to the regional final Sunday afternoon.
The Bears, who are making their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, enter the draw with a 38-26 all-time record in the Big Dance dating back to the program's first selection in 1996. Under head coach Joey Scrivano, Baylor has made 21 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a 14-year streak from 2005-18 that featured six Elite Eight runs and two Final Four appearances.
Baylor fell in the first round last season in Austin, dropping a 4-3 decision to Boise State.
The winner of the College Station Regional will advance to face the winner of the Los Angeles Regional, which includes USC, Sacramento State, Utah and California.
One year after the NCAA Championship was held in Waco, Texas, the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship matches will be contested May 15-17 at the University of Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
