GAME NOTES
Glenn Moore on his team's fight — "We barreled up a lot of balls that didn't fall for us. I tip my hat to [Canaday] because — I wouldn't say a one-man show, because she's certainly not with that team, with the players they have, but — she can be a one-man show if she needs to be. I knew we were going to have to put some pressure on earlier. After Williams hit her lead-off home run, I thought we matched them pretty well. We had some good at-bats, so I was really happy with the game plan that Coach Johnigan put together offensively. I thought her girls worked hard to make something happen. We just couldn't get a break there and couldn't push a runner."
Moore on his team's resume entering the NCAA selection process — "We chose to play a tough schedule. I think we had the toughest schedule in the Big 12, which is the second toughest conference in the nation. I chose to do that with my team, and they fight through it. Last I checked, our RPI was reasonable. I think we have a pretty good case to let them know that we belong in the field of 64, mainly because we played a tough schedule. We could have had a lot more wins if I'd chosen a different path, but I'm trying to build a young team. They met some of the challenges, but some they didn't. We got a couple of marquee wins, so I think this team's very deserving. It depends on how the math works with the AQs, but this team is very deserving, playing in a conference that is probably the best that it's been in several years."
