The Fairfield, Texas, native brings 96 games of experience after two seasons in the Space City
WACO, Texas — Baylor softball head coach Glenn Moore announced the signing of Houston transfer Madox Mitchael on Tuesday.
A native of Fairfield, Texas, Mitchael appeared in 96 games during her two seasons at Houston, making 93 starts while seeing action in both the infield and outfield. Over those two seasons in the Bayou City, Mitchael established herself as one of the Cougars' most consistent offensive performers. She collected 74 hits, nine doubles, two triples, two home runs and 37 RBIs while adding 21 stolen bases and making starts at multiple positions.
Head coach Glenn Moore has seen firsthand what a difference-maker Mitchael can be in one of the best conferences in the nation, and he is looking forward to penciling her into his lineup next season.
"We are thrilled to welcome Madox to our program," he said. "Having competed against her, we've seen firsthand just how talented she is and the impact she can make against some of the best competition in the country. Producing at a high level in the Big 12 is never easy, and Madox has already proven she can do that, so we can't wait to see what she does for us in green and gold."
During her sophomore campaign in 2026, she started all 54 games and hit .302 with eight doubles, two triples and a pair of round-trippers en route to 24 RBIs. She also added eight stolen bases while ranking among the Cougars' leaders in hits (48), total bases (68) and runs scored (27).
Mitchael burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2025, appearing in 42 games with 39 starts while swiping 13 bases, which ranked among the top freshman marks in program history. She recorded six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI contests during her debut season while showcasing her versatility by playing left field, shortstop and right field.
The talented local product joins a loaded transfer class alongside the WAC Freshman of the Year, Kenzie Farrier-Pilon, and the Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year, Mattison Buster, who signed with the Bears earlier this month.
