Earned first-team 2012 Academic All-Big 12 honors and named to fall 2012 and spring 2013 Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll... Played from scrimmage in 11 of 12 games played... Did not play in season-opening win over SMU while recovering from injury... Made career-high two receptions for 29 yards and added one tackle vs. TCU in fifth game... Professional baseball (2006-2011): Former minor league outfielder retired after six-year career in Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization... Enrolled at Baylor in August 2011 as freshman walk-on... Originally signed NLI to play baseball with Baylor in November 2005... Drafted in third round of 2006 MLB First-Year Draft by Angels and later forwent enrolling at Baylor... Advanced as high as Double-A in Angels organization (Arkansas Travelers)... Hit .260 with nine homers, 36 RBI and career bests for hits (114), doubles (19), triples (13) and stolen bases (36) in 2008 with Class A Cedar Rapids... Hit career-high .331 in 44 games with High-A Rancho Cucamonga before being promoted to Double-A Arkansas in 2010... Was hitting .249 with eight homers, 34 RBI and 10 stolen bases before leaving Arkansas at end of July 2011... Homered in last professional at-bat.

High School: High school teammate of former Baylor All-Americans Kendal Volz (pitcher) and Joe Pawelek (linebacker) at Smithson Valley High School in Spring Branch, Texas... Was starting receiver on SVHS[apos]s district champion football team... Earned first-team All-Greater San Antonio baseball honors in 2005 by San Antonio Express-News... Also garnered first-team all-district and all-county baseball honors... Named Academic all-district.
