Baylor Men's Basketball Credential Request
The Baylor Athletics Communications Office appreciates your interest in Baylor Men's Basketball and looks forward to assisting you during the upcoming season. Our offices are located on the second floor of the Simpson Athletics and Academic Center on South University Parks Drive.
To better assist in your coverage, please take time to read this information as is also found in the almanac. These policies have been established in consideration of the media’s needs, as well as those of Baylor’s student-athletes and coaches to create a positive work environment for all concerned.
If additional information or assistance is required, please contact Matt Roberts, Director of Communications, or any other member of the Baylor Athletics Communications Staff. We appreciate your coverage of Baylor Men's Basketball and look forward to working with you this season.
MEDIA CREDENTIALS
Requests for working media, radio, video or photo credentials should be made by sports editors or sports directors of accredited media outlets via this portal. All requests should be made as early as possible and are limited to working media only. Applications for credentials do not automatically mean approvals.
Requests made within 24 hours of the game may not be considered. Requests from individuals not employed by a nationally-recognized media outlet will not be considered.
Credentials will only be available for day-of-game pickup at the Foster Pavilion media will call table, located inside the loading dock media entrance.
UNAUTHORIZED CREDENTIAL USE
Credentials will be issued to working media only. Media credentials are not transferable and use by anyone other than members of the working media is unauthorized. News organizations allowing unauthorized individuals to use credentials will have their credentials revoked.
Individuals requesting autographs or photographs with student-athletes or coaches while using their credentials to gain access will have their credentials immediately revoked.
WEB-BASED MEDIA
Web-based media from sites affiliated with established, nationally recognized news-gathering organizations are eligible for media credentials. Online media with an emphasis on the recruitment of potential student-athletes (that meet the above qualification) can request one (1) credential for the sole purpose of writing a game/event recap.
Credentials will not be granted to any online agency operating sites that are in any way affiliated with gambling. Nor will credentials be granted to “fan-submitted” or un-edited sites that are not affiliated with an established news-gathering organization and/or sites whose sole entity is fan-generated message boards that allow the posting of anonymous comments.
BASELINE PHOTOGRAPHY
Baylor follows NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules regarding media representatives photographing games.
Only properly credentialed photographers will be allowed in the designated photo areas of the Foster Pavilion as specified by the NCAA and Big 12 Conference. Credentialed photographers will only be able to shoot from the designated baseline areas while on the court. Photo credentials are subject to revocation by the Baylor Athletics Communications Office at any time.
POSTGAME INTERVIEWS
Baylor University is committed to a policy of equal access for both male and female reporters and photographers.
The Baylor locker room is closed to the media. Coach Drew and player interviews will be in the Foster Pavilion media workroom following the NCAA 10-minute cooling off period.
Media are asked to submit player interview requests to Matt Roberts prior to the under-four media timeout in the second half. We will attempt to accommodate requests, but a request does not guarantee availability. The visiting team will host their own postgame press conference, either via Zoom video conference or in the media workroom. Please contact the visiting team’s SID for access.
VIDEOGRAPHER POOL FEED
Videographers will have access to a pool feed to record the game and postgame press conferences. Due to space limitations, videographers will not be able to shoot the game from court level.
BAYLOR MEDIA PAGE
An all-encompassing media page can be found on Baylor’s website at:
http://www.baylorbears.com/media. In addition to links to credential applications for all sports, the page also features links and PDFs of statistics, game notes, quick facts and logo downloads.
MEDIA PARKING
A limited number of assigned media parking spots are available in Lot B, to the right when entering through the La Salle Ave. entrance. Media members without an assigned parking pass can also park in complimentary general public parking. Upon request, printable parking passes can be e-mailed to those picking up credentials at media will call.
MEDIA ENTRANCE / MEDIA WILL CALL
Credentials will only be available for day-of-game pickup at the Foster Pavilion media will call table, located inside the loading dock media entrance.
