Dear Fellow Letterwinners,
It is my pleasure to advise you that the Baylor "B" Association, formerly known as the Baylor Letterman's Association, has overwhelmingly endorsed the admission of previous Baylor freshman letter winners into the association. Such invitation for admission permits the freshman letter winner into membership with all the rights and privileges of its existing members. The question for qualification of membership came up for discussion during revisions to the association's constitution. The board of directors and general membership enthusiastically supported the clarification of membership to include prior Baylor Freshman letter winners.
The extension of this invitation to you will have little or no impact on the Baylor "B" Association unless you seize this opportunity and act upon this invitation. Our goals are promoting Baylor athletics and maintaining the respect, honor, and distinction which the athletic letter "B" rightly deserves. You can make a difference in helping us reach our goals.
Even though no formal letter has been sent to freshman letter winners, the Board's action in extending membership to this group has already been widely accepted by those who have learned about this invitation through the grapevine. The association has not only started receiving annual dues from freshman letter winners, but has already received lifetime membership payments from several freshman letter winners.
Several in our present Baylor "B" Association, which include Ken Dunlap and Dutch Schroeder, have expended many hours of work in chasing down addresses on prior freshman letter winners. If you have any such information, it should be forwarded to the "B" Association, PO Box 8120, Waco, TX 76714-8120.
We are organizing the addresses we now have and the ones that we hope to receive through this invitation on our web site. We will be sending potential members, not only not only the information in this report, but also a copy of the President's annual letter that went out early in January. The information will include the procedures to take in becoming a member in good standing. The Baylor "B" Association has taken the steps necessary to formally include these new members into the association. Please consider accepting this opportunity for enhanced fellowship with fellow letter winners and for future opportunities of service to this association through your membership.
I thank you for your consideration and look forward to working with you as a fellow member of the Baylor "B" Association.
With kindest regards, I am
Yours very truly,
W.F. Palmer
