WACO, Texas -
Baylor Athletics and Hillcrest Health System hosted the fourth annual Lil' Wrangler Round-Up Party Saturday. The event, which is a fun-filled day for children afflicted with cancer and their families, was held at Floyd Casey Stadium in conjunction with the 2004 Cattle Baron's Ball benefiting the American Cancer Society.
The children played games and visited with Baylor athletes from soccer, football, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball. Inflatable games, food, arts and crafts and face painting were among the other numerous activities for the children.
Sophomore Desiree Guilliard-Young, member of the Baylor volleyball team, had a fun time just hanging out with the kids.
"These kids have been through so much, but you would never know it," she said. "They're having a great time."
J Fields, fellow athlete and member of the Baylor football team, agreed with her.
"They're wearing me out," he joked. "I'm just happy I was able to put a smile on their face."
Lil' Wranglers Round-up Party is just another example of Baylor athletes giving back to the Waco community and enjoying fellowship with special children.
