Love Named Assistant A.D. for Compliance

WACO, Texas - Monica Love, assistant director of athletics/director of compliance at Tulane University, has been selected to fill a similar position at Baylor University, Director of Athletics Ian McCaw announced Tuesday. Love, who will begin her duties at BU Dec. 15, will serve as the department's assistant director of athletics for compliance.

"We are excited about Monica joining our administrative team at Baylor," McCaw said. "She possesses excellent skills and experience along with a strong commitment to compliance and integrity."

Love, who has spent the past five years as a member of the Tulane staff, has served as the school's assistant director of athletics/director of compliance since June, 2001. In that role, she has been responsible for the department's compliance with all NCAA and Conference USA rules and regulations, including those governing recruiting. She spent two years as the Green Wave's assistant director of compliance before being promoted into her present position at the New Orleans institution.

Prior to moving to Tulane, Love was as a legal assistant at the University of Iowa (1998-99), where she researched legal issues for the Office of the President and the General Counsel's office.

Recently selected as a Certification Peer Reviewer for the NCAA, Love earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Drake University in 1995, then received her Juris Doctor degree in 1999 from the University of Iowa College of Law. A Presidential Scholar as an undergraduate at Drake, she authored articles on sports-related issues as a law student.
