The Baylor Songleader Dance Teams is a game day & competition team proudly donning the Green & Gold on the sidelines and competitively. Founded in 1981 the Songleaders are known for their technique and ability to perform jazz, pom, and hip-hop during games, events, and pep rallies. When we aren’t supporting the Bears’ 19 athletic programs, we are active in the Waco area, resonating pride with the Baylor faithful & preparing to compete nationally at Dance Team Unions College Classic.
Competing for the first time in 2018 receiving second in the D1 jazz category at American Dance & Drill Team while receiving recognition for the highest cumulative team grade point average of a 3.76. The Songleaders won their first National Championship at Dance Team Union’s College Classic in 2019 for pom & third place for jazz. The Songleaders were unable to attend competition in the Spring of 2020 but, returned to the Dance Team Union College Classic Virtually in 2021. Bringing home multiple division titles. 2021 division 1A Jazz champions, division 1A Spirit Showdown champions for the joint routine with the mascots. 2021 division 1A Battle Champions for their jazz routine. As well as 2021 division 1A Pom 2nd place. 2022 Spirit Showdown 3rd place, Pom 5th place, Jazz 6th place. 2023 Spirit Showdown 2nd place, Team Performance 2nd place. 2024 DIA pom 3rd place, DIA jazz 5th place. 2025 DIA pom 4th place, DIA jazz 5th place.
