BAYLOR LINE INFORMED CONSENT AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT

BY COMPLETING THE PURCHASE OF THIS TICKET I AM AGREEING TO OBEY THE RULES STATED BELOW, AND TO ASSUME THE RISK OF INJURY. Please read the following carefully:
  • I understand that by obtaining this ticket I am agreeing it is my intention to participate in the running of the Baylor Line prior to the start of the football game identified on my ticket.
  • I agree that participating in this activity requires that I accept some risk of injury and/or loss or damage to property. I agree that my safety is primarily dependent upon my taking proper care of myself. I agree that it is my responsibility to be properly attired and equipped to participate in running the Line.
  • I agree to observe any rules and practices which may be employed to minimize the risk of injury. I will obey the instructions of Baylor officials, including members of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce, who will be directing us in this activity. I will wear athletic shoes appropriate for running across an athletic field. I will not wear open-toed shoes, flip-flops, cowboy boots, or slip-ons of any kind. I agree to keep myself properly hydrated. I agree to stop and seek assistance if I do not believe I can safely continue any activity. I will not wear or use or do anything that would pose a hazard to myself, or others, including using or ingesting any substance, such as alcohol or drugs.
  • I agree that I will not carry a phone or camera in my hand while participating in running the Baylor Line, because this greatly increases the chance of falling and injury.
  • I agree that I will not push or crowd to the front while in line, that I will not attempt to move forward until instructed to do so by Chamber members, that I will run in a careful and controlled manner, and that I will not deliberately fall or attempt to cause others to fall.
  • I agree that if I do not act in accordance with this agreement, I may not be permitted to continue to participate in running the Baylor line.
  • I recognize that, despite all precautions, accidents and injuries can occur in this activity. Running across an athletic field involves an inherent risk of falling; running in a group of people increases that risk. Falling can result in severe injuries. I agree that the rules and restrictions stated here, and that may be communicated to me before and during the activity, serve to reduce those risks to a level that I accept in exchange for participation in running the Baylor Line.

Therefore, in consideration of being permitted to participate, I ASSUME ALL RISKS RELATED TO RUNNING THE BAYLOR LINE, including but not limited to bodily injury and theft, loss or damage to my personal property while participating, and I agree that I will not bring suit against Baylor University, its Regents, trustees, officers, officials, employees, volunteers, students, agents, and assigns, for any injuries, damages, or losses hereby assumed arising from participation in the running of the Baylor Line, including such injuries, damages or losses caused, or alleged to be caused, by the NEGLIGENT OR INTENTIONAL ACTS OF BAYLOR UNIVERSITY or its Regents, trustees, officers, officials, employees, volunteers, students, or agents.
