Caleb Collins joined the Baylor Family in June 2020. He worked as a quality control coach on defense for his first season, then was promoted to an on-field role as assistant coach for outside linebackers in November 2021.

Collins worked with a talented group of outside linebackers in 2022 that featured the development of 6-foot-7, 245-pounder Garmon Randolph into a defensive weapon. Randolph totaled seven tackles for a loss and tied for the team lead with 4.5 sacks.

The Houston, Texas native, saw his linebacker group finish strong in 2021 as it helped the BU defense set a Sugar Bowl record with 10 sacks against Ole Miss.

Collins joined Dave Aranda’s Baylor staff following three seasons at LSU in a similar capacity. He served as a graduate assistant on defense during the 2018 season working under Aranda with the inside linebackers. He was promoted to the role of analyst for the 2019 season as LSU won a National Championship.

A native of Houston, Collins played linebacker at Southeastern Louisiana from 2012-16. Collins played in 35 career games and helped the Lions to a pair of FCS Playoff appearances in 2013 and 2014.

Following the completion of his playing career, Collins spent one season on the football staff at Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas.

Collins graduated from Southeastern Louisiana with a degree in physics in 2016. He is a graduate of Galena Park-North Shore High School.

Collins married his wife, Dr. Jerica Collins, in February of 2022.
