Craig Watts

Craig Watts is in his first year as a graduate assistant coach for Baylor in 2023. 
 
Watts joined the Baylor coaching staff after spending the 2021 season as a graduate assistant working with the offensive line at Nevada and the 2022 season in the same role at Colorado State. 
 
A native of Fort Hood, Texas, Watts had a decorated playing career that saw him star as a four-year starter at West Texas A&M from 2010-13 before beginning a professional career. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 2014 and spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Chargers. He transitioned to the New York Jets in 2016 and 2017. 
 
His collegiate career saw him serve as a two-time team captain, make 42 career starts and earn first-team All-America honors in 2013. He was named the Lone Star Conference Lineman of the Year in 2013 and earned all-conference honors three times. 
 
Watts graduated with an undergraduate degree in history from West Texas A&M after a prep career at Killeen High School. He is working on his master’s degree in sports pedagogy. 
 
Watts is married to Morgan Watts and the couple resides in Waco, Texas.
