Pat Markarian

Patrick Markarian joined the Baylor Football staff in May 2021. He serves as a graduate assistant coach on offense.
 
Markarian came to Baylor following three seasons as a graduate assistant at San Jose State from 2018-20. While with the Spartans, he worked with the offensive line.
 
He helped San Jose State to back-to-back Mountain West championships in 2019 and 2020. The Spartans were the only FBS team to finish in the top-10 for sacks allowed while averaging at least 35 pass attempts a game in 2019 and 2020. The 2020 San Jose State offense also had its best rushing attack in five years with its 4.5 yards per carry.

Markarian joined the Spartans after serving as offensive line coach at Fresno City College in 2017. He began his coaching career in 2015 as a student assistant coach at Indiana State University. In 2016, he was promoted to a graduate assistant position and was responsible for coaching the tight ends and the offensive linemen.

The Fresno, Calif., native was an offensive lineman on the 2012 and 2013 Fresno City College teams that won the Valley Conference championship. He transferred to Indiana State and completed his playing career in 2014.

Markarian graduated from Indiana State in 2015 as a history major.
