Lara Meccico joined the Baylor coaching staff as a volunteer in the Fall of 2018. A two-year letterman from Hawaii Pacific, Meccico hails from Cosenza, Italy. She received a degree in psychology in May of 2018 from the University of Hawaii-Pacific.
At HPU in two seasons she complied a sparkling 40-2 record on the singles court, including a 23-0 perfect senior season. In 2018, she helped her team to the NCAA Division II Final Four and for her performance for the season she was named the NCAA Division II National Most Improved Player along with All-America honors. On the doubles court, as a senior, she went 20-2 and ended her season on a 12-match win streak, including a win in the national semifinals.
She and her husband Lukas were wed in October of 2019.
