Patricia Martins joined Baylor Athletics in June of 2022 as a volunteer assistant coach on the women's tennis team under Joey Scrivano and was elevated to assistant coach in August 2023.
Previously, Martins served as an assistant coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio for the 2021-22 academic year under head coach Ki Kroll.
A three-year letterwinner at South Alabama, Martins was a graduate assistant for her alma mater in the 2019 and 2021 seasons. As a GA during the 2021 Jaguars' season, Martins helped assist the Jaguars in the Sun Belt Championships seeded at No. 1 for the tournament. In her years of assisting, the team featured Sun Belt Conference No. 1 ranked duo Otoha Aoki and Aina Domingo-Bernabeu and Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Year Yu Fujioka.
With the Jaguars as a student-athlete, Martins redshirted the 2016 season before winning 52 matches and spending the majority of the 2017 season at the No. 1 position in doubles.
Martins was named Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference with partner Laura Valkova, the only Jaguar duo to go undefeated against conference teams during the 2016 season. She secured South Alabama's Sun Belt semifinal victory over Georgia State after defeating Anatasia Grosheva.
Winning all 10 of her singles victories in the 2017 season consecutively, Martins posted a 3-1 conference record before finishing the 2018 season fifth in school history for win percentage in the No. 1 position and sixth in career dual win percentage with .800.
Martins graduated with a degree in sport management in 2019 after making Jaguar history as the third women's tennis student athlete to earn all-district honors and was voted to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 Women's At-Large Team. She was a five time South Alabama President's List recipient and two-time member of the Sun Belt Commissioner's List.
The Lisbon, Portugal, native graduated with her master's of business administration in 2022 from USA.
