Candynce Boney serves Baylor Athletics as Assistant AD for Academic Services within BU's Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE).
Boney joined BU in June 2023 as Associate Director and was promoted in October 2024 to Director before her appointment to Assistant AD in January 2026.
Boney works primarily with the Baylor Football program, specifically the defense and specialists, while also serving the men's tennis program as their academic coach.
Previously, Boney was at Northwestern University where she served as the Associate Director of Academic Support from 2022-23. She was promoted after serving as an Academic Advisor since 2017.
Boney got her start in higher education as an academic intern at the University of Michigan from 2015-17. Prior to that, she was an assistant tennis coach with the James Madison University women's tennis team from 2011-14.
The Las Vegas, Nevada, native graduated from UMass Amherst in 2011 with her bachelor's degree in independent curriculum. Boney then earned her master's in Sport and Recreation Leadership from JMU in 2014. She earned the Kellogg Leadership Certificate from Northwestern in 2018.
Boney strives to provide an opportunity for a safe space for everyone and believes if we continue to push for Diversity and Inclusion one day we will achieve Equity for all.
