Chalisa Fonza joined Baylor in November of 2021 as a Director of Athletic Training, serving the women's basketball team in particular.
Prior to Baylor, Fonza worked for the Washington Mystics as their athletic trainer from 2018-21. She spent 18 years at Ohio State as the athletic trainer for women's basketball, men's and women's golf, cheer, dance and mascots, from 2000-2018.
She was an athletic trainer for Oklahoma State for a year, working with women's basketball, golf and football from 1999-2000. Prior to that, Fonza was at Cleveland State from 1995-99 as an assistant athletic trainer, working with women's basketball, volleyball, softball and serving as the coordinator of the student training program.
She worked with the Cleveland Rockers from WNBA team in 1997.
Fonza is originally from Quincy, Illinois.
