Clayton Brady joined the Baylor men's golf staff in June of 2026, as an assistant coach under head coach Jean-Paul Hebert.
Brady arrived in Waco after three seasons on the staff at Texas, where he served as both an assistant coach and director of operations while helping guide the Longhorns to sustained nsuccess at the national level.
During his tenure on the Forty Acres, Texas reached NCAA Championship match play twice and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2026 NCAA Championship before falling to eventual national runner-up UCLA. The Longhorns captured four team titles and four individual titles during the 2025-26 campaign, including a five-shot victory at the NCAA Bryan Regional over host Texas A&M.
Brady helped develop some of the nation's top collegiate players during his time at Texas. Four Longhorns combined to earn eight PING and Golfweek All-America honors during his tenure. In 2025-26, Christiaan Maas earned first-team All-America honors, Luke Potter was a second-team selection, Tommy Morrison collected third-team accolades and Daniel Bennett earned honorable mention recognition.
Texas enjoyed one of the nation's most successful seasons in 2024-25, claiming five team titles and recording 10 top-three finishes in 13 stroke-play events before advancing to the NCAA Championship match play quarterfinals. Three different Longhorns earned individual titles during the spring season, while Bennett was named the Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award recipient as the nation's top freshman golfer.
In his first season at Texas in 2023-24, Brady helped guide the Longhorns to victories at the Big 12 Match Play Championship, Big 12 Championship and NCAA Austin Regional. Texas claimed the Big 12 title by 18 strokes and won the NCAA Austin Regional by 16 shots, easily advancing to the NCAA Championship. Christiaan Maas earned PING and Golfweek All-America honors, while Nathan Petronzio was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
Prior to entering the collegiate ranks, Brady spent five seasons as the head boys golf coach at Memorial High School in Houston from 2018-23. During his tenure, Memorial finished as the state runner-up in 2021 and finished third in 2023.
Brady earned numerous honors during his time at Memorial, including the National Federation of State High School Associations Golf Coach of the Year for the state of Texas and the Houston Area Golf Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2021. He also served as vice president of the Texas Association of Golf Coaches in 2023. In addition to his coaching duties, Brady worked as a business teacher and Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor.
Before his time at Memorial, Brady spent three years as an assistant coach for the boys and girls golf programs at Lake Travis High School from 2015-18. During his tenure, the girls captured back-to-back state championships in 2016 and 2017. He also served as a special education teacher.
While earning his bachelor of science degree in University Studies with minors in History and Coaching from Texas A&M University, he spent three seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Texas A&M Consolidated High School from 2012-15.
A native of Lake Travis, Texas, Brady was a four-year letterwinner for the Cavs from 2008-11. He helped lead Lake Travis to the 2011 state championship and a runner-up finish in 2010 while earning all-region honors and two academic all-district selections.
Brady and his wife, Andi, have two sons, Bennett and Boone.
