David Oropeza joined Baylor Athletics in October 2026 as Associate Director of Event Management and Facilities. In his role, he oversees event and facility operations at Baylor Ballpark, helping provide a first-class experience for student-athletes, coaches and fans, and guests.
Prior to Baylor, Oropeza spent six years with the University of Arizona Athletics Department from 2019-25, where he gained extensive experience in athletic event and facility operations. He most recently served at UCLA Athletics from 2025-26.
A native of Nogales, Arizona, Oropeza earned a bachelor's degree in Communication and Sport Management from the University of Arizona in 2019. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University in 2025.
Oropeza and his wife, Victoria Castanon, who serves in Baylor Athletics' Governance and Regulatory Affairs office, were married in March 2026.
