Josie Hutton joined the Baylor Athletics Communications staff in June of 2024 after spending two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Mississippi.
Hutton is the sports information director for the men's basketball, cross country, track and field and men’s tennis programs at BU. She served as the secondary football contact in 2024 for the Bears, helping promote an eight-win season and a trip to the Texas Bowl. In addition, while working with the men's tennis program, she served as the host media coordinator for the 2024 NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Individual Championships, hosted by Baylor at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Prior to coming to Waco, Hutton earned her masters in Integrated Marketing and Communications while working for the Ole Miss Athletics Communications team. There, she worked with a handful of sports such as baseball, football, men’s golf, women’s basketball and women’s tennis.
In her two years as a GA in Oxford, Hutton helped guide her teams to multiple historic seasons such as Ole Miss football’s first 10-win season in program history capitalized by the 2023 Peach Bowl victory, women’s basketball 2023 Sweet 16 run that held the Rebels for the first time since 2007, and a program high ranking of No. 3 for men’s golf in the 2023-24 season.
Prior to Ole Miss, the Brandon, Mississippi native graduated from Mississippi State in May of 2022 with her bachelor’s in Communications. While in undergrad, Hutton was a lead student for Mississippi State Athletic Communications department for four years, serving with the men’s basketball and men’s golf teams. She additionally helped host a variety of postseason events such as NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals for baseball and softball and two 1st/2nd Rounds of the NCAA Tournament in women’s basketball.
