Larry McDonald

Larry is in his fifth year as the Assistant AD for Football Recruiting at Baylor, after joining the staff in March of 2020. 
 
McDonald oversees the Baylor recruiting operation, which includes talent identification, resource allocation, on-campus visit coordination and oversight of the BU recruiting staff. 
 
He has led the Bears to strong recruiting and transfer portal classes over his career and has helped transition Baylor into a new era of embracing Name, Image and Likeness and potential revenue sharing opportunities.
 
McDonald came to Waco following three years at Texas A&M. He spent the 2019 season as Executive Director of Recruiting under Jimbo Fisher. He had spent the previous two years as the Aggies' Assistant Director of Recruiting from 2017-18. He also had a short stint at Arkansas as Executive Director of Recruiting in 2019.
 
Prior to joining the Texas A&M staff, McDonald worked for Cumberland County Schools as a Health and Physical Education Teacher. He served as offensive line coach and head baseball coach at Seventy First HS in Fayetteville, N.C. from 2013-15.
 
McDonald graduated from Fayetteville State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and completed his Masters of Science in Sports Management at Texas A&M in 2017. 
 
He is married to the former Tasmin Washington. The couple has one daughter, Taylen.
