Michael Wenger joined the Baylor Athletics Performance staff in the Spring 2019. He was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics Performance for Olympic Sports in November 2025 after previously serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics Performance (2022-25) working with Baylor’s Volleyball and Softball programs. He also assists with Men's and Women's Cross Country.
Wenger previously worked with Baylor’s Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs.
Wenger came to Baylor from Syracuse University where he served as a volunteer assistant for football. Prior to Syracuse, Wenger worked as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Ithaca College from 2016-2018. At Ithaca, he oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning for baseball, softball, women’s swimming and men’s & women’s diving along with assisting football, soccer, basketball, and wrestling.
Wenger graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016 where he earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science. He earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences with a concentration in human performance from Ithaca College. Wenger holds certifications through the CSCCa (SCCC), and NSCA (CSCS).
The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native resides in Waco with his wife Kelcy and their dogs, Bear and Brooklyn.
