Miranda Smith serves as Associate Director of Performance Nutrition within Baylor Athletics, where she provides comprehensive performance nutrition support for Baseball, Volleyball, Equestrian, and Men’s and Women’s Tennis. In her role, she delivers individualized nutrition counseling, team education, cooking demonstrations, and return-to-play nutrition support, while also assisting with clinical care, overseeing Olympic sports operations and menus at the BANC, and managing inventory and fueling station systems.
Smith joined Baylor Athletics in March 2026, bringing a strong blend of collegiate athletics, clinical nutrition, and performance experience. Prior to her current role, she worked with Chartwells at Baylor University as a Performance Dietitian from December 2025 to March 2026, supporting menu development, nutrition education, and quality control within the Athletics dining facility while collaborating closely with performance chefs and Baylor Athletics staff.
Before returning to Baylor, Smith served at the University of North Texas from 2022–2025, where she was Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition and later Sport Nutrition Fellow. In these roles, she supported multiple programs including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, and Track & Field/Cross Country. Her responsibilities included individualized nutrition counseling, team education, competition meal planning, body composition testing, hydration protocols, recovery nutrition strategies, fueling station management, budgeting, and student intern supervision.
Earlier in her career, she worked as an Outpatient Dietitian at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney and liver disease, and weight management. She also gained experience as a Virtual Personal Trainer and Registered Dietitian with Life Time Athletics, where she developed customized fitness and nutrition programs for clients.
Smith earned her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Baylor University and her Master of Science in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Smith also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Baylor University, where she has taught Nutrition 2351 since 2023, delivering coursework focused on macronutrients, micronutrients, and human metabolism while managing online course design through Canvas.
