Ryan Porter serves as Director for Governance & Regulatory Affairs, where he serves as the compliance liaison for Baylor's volleyball, baseball, track & field/cross country and soccer programs.
He also provides specialized oversight of NCAA recruiting legislation (Bylaw 13) and serves as the department liaison to Baylor Athletics' ticketing, marketing, facilities and communications units.
Porter joined Baylor Athletics in February 2026 after gaining compliance experience at both the NCAA Division I and Conference USA levels. Prior to joining the Bears, he served as Director of Compliance at Liberty University from 2023–26, where he oversaw compliance monitoring and adherence to institutional, conference and NCAA legislation for multiple programs, including women's basketball, softball, field hockey, women's lacrosse, and cross country and track & field. He was also responsible for developing and delivering rules education to coaches, student-athletes, administrators and campus partners, while assisting with the investigation, documentation and reporting of NCAA violations.
Before his promotion to Director of Compliance, Porter served as Assistant Director of Compliance at Liberty in 2023. Prior to Liberty, he worked as a Compliance Graduate Assistant at Western Illinois University from 2021–23, providing support for all 17 NCAA Division I athletics programs alongside the institution's compliance leadership.
A former student-athlete, Porter competed in cross country and track & field at Lewis University from 2017–21 while earning his undergraduate degree.
Porter earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management, with minors in Marketing and Business Administration, from Lewis University in 2021. He later earned a Master of Science in Sport Management from Western Illinois University in 2023.
A native of Oglesby, Illinois, Porter will marry his wife, Kassady, in June 2026. The couple also has a golden retriever named Oakley.
