Sean Escarciga serves as the Assistant Director of Development with Baylor Athletics as a part of University Advancement since September 2025.
Escarciga originally joined Baylor Athletics in August 2023 as an Assistant Learning Specialist under the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence’s (SACE) Assistant Development Program. In this position, Escarciga assisted high-risk student-athletes with study skills and academic instruction. He also co-facilitated on-campus Strategic Learning Courses (STL) for freshman student-athletes to promote character development in line with Baylor Built initiatives.
Before becoming a development officer, Escarciga worked in the same department of University Advancement as a Gift Processor and Data Management Specialist. In this role, he supported fundraising efforts by accounting for incoming gifts and researching and revising donor records.
Outside of higher education, Escarciga has a diverse professional background. He was a manager at Magnolia, where he worked for a highly successful contracted vendor for over five years. Before that, Escarciga worked for a local nonprofit as a Program Specialist, providing intensive case management for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Escarciga proudly served in the United States Army Infantry before graduating from Baylor University in 2014. His service included a year-long deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. After his military service, he achieved a lifelong goal by earning his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Baylor. Later, he obtained his master’s degree in special education from Texas Tech University in 2021.
