Jerry Hill joined Baylor Athletics in August 2008 and serves as the Director of Sports Journalism within the Athletics Communications department.
In 2025-26, he added responsibilities as the primary media contact for Track & Field/Cross Country and Men’s and Women’s Golf.
Prior to Baylor, Jerry spent over 25 years at the Waco Tribune-Herald newspaper, including the last 15 as assistant sports editor. He covered the 1986 men’s Final Four, five women’s Final Four tournaments and several professional sports events, including the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers and the Colonial and Byron Nelson golf tournaments.
In 2024, Jerry published a book called Green Synergy: Tales of Faith, Business Success and Impact from Baylor Alumni. Each chapter tells the success story of an entrepreneur who graduated from Baylor University, and includes Drayton McLane, John Eddie Williams, Jim Turner, Jay Allison, Joel Allison, Gary Baxter, Ray Perryman and Larry Heard.
A native of Arlington, Texas, Baylor Alumnus by Choice and 1983 graduate of North Texas, Jerry and his wife, Julie, live in China Spring and are active at Wellspring Church. Jerry is the father of four boys, along with being Pops to Amos, Micah Jane and Jameson Hill.
