Michael Motta

Michael Motta joined the Baylor women’s basketball staff in May of 2021 as the Assistant AD for Basketball Operations.

In his role, Motta oversees game scheduling, team travel, budgeting and the operations graduate assistants, while being the program's liaison to Nike and the Baylor Bear Foundation. 
 
Motta came to Baylor after an eight-year stint with Dartmouth College where he was the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations. There he coordinated all aspects of scheduling, apparel, directed the manager program and assisted with on-campus recruiting.
 
Prior to his eight years in Hanover, N.H., he was a graduate assistant coach at Providence College in Providence, R.I. For two seasons, he planned and prepared game and player breakdowns for the staff, directed community engagement, led the manager and practice-player program and assisted with scheduling.
 
As an undergraduate at Old Dominion, Motta, was a student assistant and head team manager. In his freshman season, Old Dominion advanced to the Sweet 16.
 
Motta is a member of the WBCA and has spoken on several panels concerning basketball operations.
 
He is a 2011 graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. where he received a degree in Sport Management, and he received his master’s degree at Providence College in 2013 in Guidance and Counseling.
