Men's Tennis' Reps Wrap Up Play at Midland Open

MIDLAND, Texas - Two of the Baylor tennis team's top players took part in the Midland Open at the Racquet Club in Midland, Texas, Oct. 20-22.
Sophomore Sean O'Connor and freshman Reiner Neurohr both lost their first round matches on Friday to drop to the consolation bracket. O'Connor lost to Patricio Espinosa of Texas Tech, 6-2, 6-3. Neurohr was defeated by number-two seed Craig Edmundson of Texas, 6-0, 6-4.
In the first round of consolation draw on Saturday, O'Connor bear Joe Bassett of Florida State in straight sets, 6-1-, 6-1. O'Connor advanced to the second consolation round, where he lost to Borut Martincevic of Texas Tech, 6-1, 6-2.
Neurohr also won his first consolation round, beating Jarin Skube of Texas A&M, 7-5, 6-3. In the second round, Neurohr lost to TCU's Jimmy Haney, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, O'Connor and Neurohr put up a fight before losing in the first round to top-seeded and 11th-ranked Eddins and Haney of TCU, 7-6, 6-4.
The Bears continue play Oct. 27-31 at the Regional Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
