HOME OPENER
After three road games, the Lady Bears finally get to play in the friendly confines of the Ferrell Center. Baylor brings a 3-0 mark into the game against Bethune-Cookman who is 0-2 on the season.
The Lady Bears have won seven consecutive home openers. Their last home opening loss came at the hands of Colorado (84-58) in 1992.
BAYLOR LADY BEARS
The Lady Bears extended their perfect record to 3-0 on Sunday by defeating UL-Lafayette, 101-56, in Lafayette. It was the Ragin' Cajun's first loss of the season.
Four Lady Bear starters, led by Sheila Lambert (Seattle/Chief Stealth HS/Grayson CC), scored 77 of Baylor's points in their 101-56 victory over the University of Louisiana-Lafayette on the Ragin' Cajuns home court Sunday afternoon. The 45 point margin of victory is Baylor's largest since the 1998-99 season when the Lady Bears defeated Southwest Texas by 59 points, 98-39.
Lambert, a 5-7 junior guard, led all scorers with 28 points while junior Danielle Crockrom (Houston/North Shore HS) and senior Monica Arnold (Austin/Johnston HS) each posted a double-double and sophomore Hilary Akromis (San Antonio/Churchill HS) added 13. Crockrom narrowly missed her career highs of 25 points and 15 rebounds when she tallied 24 points and 13 rebounds on the afternoon, including 18 points and 11 rebounds in the first half. Arnold, a 6-2 post, ended the game with 12 points and 10 boards. Nine of Akromis' 13 points came from three-point range.
Baylor, with their 3-0 mark, has equalled the successful start of the 1997-98 season when the Lady Bears streaked out to a 3-0 mark before falling to Kent (81-75) in New Mexico's Lobo Classic. Prior to that, Baylor's best season start came in the 1991-92 campaign when they posted a 6-0 record. They lost the seventh game of the season at Oklahoma, 111-72.

Baylor's leader, three games into the season, is Sheila Lambert. The Seattle native is averaging 22.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 4.33 assists a game. In addition, the 5-7 guard leads the team in blocked shots with 1.0 a game.
