Our roster is dominated by California and Texas players. Why is California the only non-Texas state that we get players from?
Jonathan Stanley, Waco, Texas
That's a good observation about our roster. California happens to be a hotbed for great volleyball players, plus I have good knowledge of players from that area due to previous coaching experience. Texas is rapidly becoming one of the better volleyball states. We have great athletic talent to draw from, so when we're looking for athletes it hasn't been necessary to go out of state. We are recruiting the nation and world for top players and athletes, we just haven't signed any to this date. Thanks for your question and support!
What will the team have to do in 2001 to return to the success it enjoyed last season?
Monica Hawkins, Houston, Texas
We as coaches will recruit the top student-athletes available. Our current players will focus on getting healthy first, then continue the process of developing power, strength, and skill to play consistently at a higher level. We are planning an international trip in August that will give us time to grow together and experience a higher level of competition.
