BEST START SINCE...
At 4-0, the Lady Bears are off to their best start since the 1991-92 season. The `91-92 campaign began with six wins before dropping a game to Oklahoma, 111-72. Twice, 1974-75 and 1980-81, the Lady Bears posted 9-0 records to start the season.
RECEIVING VOTES...
The Lady Bears received nine votes in this week's AP Poll. The Baylor has never been ranked in the top 25 but have received votes during the 1997-98 season and at the beginning of the 1998-99 campaign.
RECORD SETTING PERFORMANCE...
The Lady Bears set two team records and tied an additional one in their victory over Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday. Baylor's 29 steals broke the previous mark of 25 set against Eastern Illinois on Dec. 5, 1992 and their 108 points was the most points by a Lady Bear team in the Ferrell Center. The previous high was 98 against Southwest Texas on Jan. 20, 1998. They tied the team record for most free throw attempts with 52. They also attempted 52 against TCU on Jan. 15, 1994.
STRATTON RETURNS HOME...
Freshman guard Jessika Stratton returns to her hometown of Colorado Springs this weekend. The 2000 Coronado HS graduate has played in three of BU's four games and started in the second game of the season. She has been slowed recently with an injury to her left wrist, which she injured late in the game against Louisiana-Lafayette but has been practicing with the team.
BAYLOR LADY BEARS...
The Lady Bears extended their perfect record to 4-0 on Tuesday by defeating Bethune-Cookman College, 108-45, in the Baylor's first home game of the season. It was Baylor's second straight 100-point effort.
For the third time in four games and the third straight game everyone saw action. In fact, it was the second time this season that everyone scored.
Danielle Crockrom (Houston/North Shore HS) and Sheila Lambert (Seattle/Grayson CC/Chief Stealth HS) shared scoring honors with 20 points each. The two juniors also posted double-doubles with Crockrom hauling down 14 rebounds and Lambert dishing out 10 assists. Junior point guard Nicole Collins (Houston/Dobie HS) recorded the most complete game of her career with 17 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and five steals. Senior post Monica Arnold (Austin/Johnston) tallied 12 points and four blocked shots.
ON THE SEASON...
Baylor's leader, four games into the season, is Sheila Lambert. The Seattle native is averaging 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 5.75 assists a game. She also leads the team in free throw percentage at .870 (20-23). Danielle Crockrom and Monica Arnold each average in double digits in scoring. Crockrom, a 6-2 forward, checks in at 17.3 points and a team-leading 9.8 rebounds while Arnold, a 6-2 post, tallies 10.5 points and 7.0 boards. In addition, Crockrom leads the squad in field goal percentage with a mark of .628 (27-43).
A LOOK AHEAD...
After a brief, one game, appearance in the Ferrell Center Baylor will then head to Colorado for two games, playing Air Force on Dec. 3 and Denver University on Dec. 5. Then it's back to the friendly confines of the Ferrell Center for six straight games starting with Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 9.
THE OPPOSITION...
Air Force Falcons The Falcons are 1-2 on the season but will play two games before hosting the Lady Bears. They host the Air Force Classic and will play Lamar on Friday and either Alabama-Birmingham or North Texas on Saturday. The Falcons defeated Cal State Fullerton (66-59) and lost to Denver (76-44) and Southern Utah (78-59). Air Force is led by junior forward Rozalyn Russ' 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds a game. Sophomore guard Morgan Bennett scores 10.3 a game and is second in rebounding at 4.7.
Air Force is coached by Sue Darling. This is Darling's third year as head coach of the Falcons and she has compiled a 9-45 record.

MAKING THE TRANSITION...
Junior college transfer Sheila Lambert (Grayson County College), one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation, is proving that the recruiters were on the mark. The 5-7 guard has led the team in scoring in every game this season and earned MVP honors at the Boston University Invitational. In addition, she leads the team in scoring, assists, steals and is second in rebounding and blocked shots.
FRESHMAN MAKING IMPACT...
Freshman guard Jessika Stratton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Coronado HS) made the most of her opportunity in her first collegiate game when she came in off the bench against Miami University and chalked up 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 27 minutes of play. The steady performance earned her a starting spot in the team's next game against Yale.
Against Bethune-Cookman, freshman guard Chanelle Fox (Houston/Westfield HS) scored 12 points and recorded four steals in just seven minutes of play.
THE BENCH...
For the third straight game, everyone on the bench saw action. Against Yale everyone played at least 10 minutes, against UL-Lafayette everyone saw at least five minutes of action and against Bethune-Cookman all players played at least seven minutes.
DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE...
Coach Mulkey-Robertson stresses defense and the Lady Bears have taken her preaching to heart. In three games, Baylor has forced 114 turnovers (28.5/game) and stolen the ball 66 times (16.5/game).
