WACO, Texas - Baylor wore its home green jerseys over gold pants. The visiting rebels wore white tops over silver pants with silver helmets. IT was 93 degrees at kickoff with 20 mph winds blowing out of the southeast. UNLV won the toss and deferred to the second half.
Lannie O'Steen's first quarter 5 yard reception from Jermaine Alfred was his second career touchdown. Last week he recovered a fumble in the end zone at Boston College.
Alfred now has 15 career passing touchdowns. Last year's home opener versus North Carolina State drew 28, 743 fans. Tonight's attendance was 32, 272.
Darrell Bush ran for over 100 yards for the second time in his career. He had 127 yards tonight and ran for 133 against Kansas last year. Bush scored his eighth career touchdown on a 9 yard run in the fourth quarter. Last year's longest punt return was 27 yards by Eric Clay against Colorado. Elijah Burkins returned one for 53 yards tonight.
