Longhorns Easily Beat Bears, 8-1

AUSTIN, Texas - Baylor women's tennis failed to upset Texas' 106 conference match winning streak in Austin today when the Longhorns pulled through with a 8-1 victory.
The Bears' single win over Texas came at No. six singles for Frida Borjesson. Borjesson defeated Pauline Trinchant, 6-4, 7-6.
No. 18-ranked Jahnavi Parekh was defeated on court one by Texas' No. 12-ranked Janet Walker in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. On court two, No. 23-ranked Michelle Faucher defeated No. 54-ranked Katja Kovac, 7-6, 6-3. Vida Mulec was defeated at court three by Vladka Uhlirova, 6-3, 6-2. Karin Andersson was defeated by Joanne Masongsong, 7-5, 6-0, and Paola Stephen was defeated by Kaysie Smashey, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles play, No. 48-ranked Kovac and Mulec were defeated by Walker and Uhlirova, 8-3. Texas' Masongsong and Smashey defeated Andersson and Borjesson, 8-2, and Monica Gonzalez and Parekh were defeated by Faucher and Ziva Grasic,8-3.
This match concludes Baylor's regular season. The Bears finish 9-2 in conference, and 19-3 overall. Baylor will compete in the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Mo., April 27th through the 30th.
