DURHAM, N.C. - Baylor track standouts Brandon Couts and Barbara Petrahn both placed fourth in the 400 meter dash at the NCAA outdoor track and field championships Saturday.
Couts, a junior from Greenville, Texas and the reigning national champion in the indoor 400 meters, ran the race in 45.09 to finish fourth. He did beat Oklahoma's Michael Blackwell, who clocked the world's fastest time earlier this season.
Petrahn, a sophomore from Gyor, Hungary, earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 52.37.
As a team, the Baylor men are currently tied for 14th place with 14 team points. The women are in a three-way tie for 20th place with 11 team points.
Baylor's men's and women's 4X100 meter relay teams were scheduled to run in the finals Saturday evening, but the relays have been delayed due to severe weather in the area.
